TO THE EDITOR
U.S. 113 bypass is like Naamans Road issues
Amazing how a recent editorial
dealing with the U.S. 113 bypass at Milford brought back memories of the
various civic associations -- Brandywine Hundred Council of Civic Associations
and New Castle Councilman Bob Weiner in particular-- surrounding the many
proposals for widening and improving Naamans Road.
For some 30 years thereafter we had to suffer with traffic
congestion and all the traffic nightmares associated with such.
Thank you Brandywine Hundred Council of Civic Associations and
Mr. Weiner for the many years of aggravation about Naamans Road.
I can understand The News Journal editorial staff confronting
this issue when Rep. george Carey, R-Milford claimed that the bypass would
"disturb" his constituents.
All I can say to the residents in and near Milford is the
coming traffic jams will not be an issue when and if Carey runs for
re-election. Thank you News Journal editorial board for exposing this travesty.
